QuikVue Vet Case Share - corneal foreign bodies

01/30/26

We are glad to share a vet case study captured by QuikVue eye imaging adaptor from Dr. Allison Fuchs.

We had high winds in Virginia this week and this pup had his head out the car window in the breeze, and the owner heard a yelp. He came in with TWO corneal foreign bodies in the left eye thanks to a wild branch. Both were somewhat embedded in the middle of the layers of the cornea but since he was a perfect patient I was able to pluck them both out with just topical numbing drops.

We'll treat with topical antibiotic to try to prevent infection as he heals, and monitor closely.

And did anyone catch the incidental uveal cyst?
