QuikVue Vet Case Share - deep ulcer with pockets of abscess in the cornea
We are glad to share a vet case study captured by QuikVue eye imaging adaptor from Dr. Allison Fuchs.
I love being able to share positive progress photos! This sweet young cat was referred for an ulcer that was not responding to treatment and getting deeper. I diagnosed a very deep ulcer with pockets of abscess in the cornea and we talked about alternative medications versus surgery. Since he is young and healthy, and there were blood vessels in the cornea, we changed his medication around to combat the resistant infection and a week later he looks amazing! On slit lamp exam there is still some white blood cell infiltrate present, so we aren't 100% done with treatment. The ulcer has healed over and he is so much happier though! A little more time and therapy and we should be back to 100%.
